Biography:
James A. Wainwright joined the firm in 1977, With a legal career spanning four decades, he practices in the following areas of law: Family Law; Guardianship and Conservatorship; Wills; Trusts and Estates; Business Law; Probate; Child Custody Litigation; Divorce Litigation; Contracts and Real Estate.
After earning his J.D. at Lincoln University, Mr. Wainwright was admitted to the California Bar and the U.S. District Court, Northern and Eastern Districts of California. He is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.
Mr. Wainwright has been an arbitrator for the Tulare County Judicial Arbitration Program, since 1995 and remains active in the program. He is Judge Pro-Tem for the Juvenile Court and the Superior Court of Tulare County.
Among his professional memberships are the State Bar of California and the Tulare County Trial Lawyers Association (President, 1982-1983 and Secretary, 1979-1981).
He is an active member of the Visalia community, participating in many civic organizations, including the Central Valley Veterans, West Visalia Kiwanis, the Special Olympics as well as other youth related projects.
Mr. Wainwright’s military service includes: USMC, 1967-1970 and Major, USMCR, 1970-1979.
